Practical Information

The UIA International Forum 2022 Affordable Housing Activation: Removing barriers (AHA Forum) will be held from 18 to 20 May in Madrid, Spain. It is the most relevant event to advance towards the effectiveness of the right to housing, in order to generate a knowledge base that allows identifying what are the main barriers to meeting the needs of decent and adequate housing. AHA Forum also shares success stories about crossing these barriers with respect to cultural differences, economic development and social situation that this problem presents globally.

The AHA Forum is an event with maximum international impact that seeks to contribute to improving access to affordable, decent and adequate housing throughout the world, through the generation of global networks and alliances that promote the shared knowledge of success stories and the specific visions from the analysis of the barriers that hinder access to housing.

The AHA Forum will be held at the Gran Teatro Príncipe Pio (Cuesta de San Vicente, 44, Madrid, Spain). More information about the venue can be found on https://laestacion.com.

Information about hotels

The main sessions of the AHA Forum, including opening and closing ceremonies, will feature interpretation in English, French, and Spanish.

For in-person accreditation at the venue, you need to bring a copy of the e-mail registration confirmation, which includes your unique registration number and QR code, and proof of identification used for your online registration. The venue will be well marked with directions and information. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions.

Registered participants will be able to pick up their badges from 18 May 2022 at the official venue of the Forum. To avoid delays and long queues, participants are advised to arrive early and pick up their registration badges as early as possible.

Registration desks schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday 18 May from 8 a.m.
  • Thursday 19 May from 9 a.m.
  • Friday 20 May from 9 a.m.

The AHA Forum registration fee for the 3 days does not include meals. There will be food truck services within the venue.

The AHA Forum venue offers free WIFI services throughout the facility.

Participants are advised to organize their own health insurance for travel to Madrid.
